| Malmsteen is one of the greatsest guitarist in the world. The song is called "Far Beyond The Sun". For those that know him they will watch the whole clip for sure. I can see it dragging a bit for those that aren't really into this type of music. |

Sadly I have to agree with you for once on this...
Scott, this is the same thing that happened last time with that guitarist that claims he was playing, Malmsteen's version of "Canon."
This kid is just following along to the music, but not actually playing it.
He may be on the right notes on the fret board, for all I know (it looks pretty convincing). But he isn't actually playing what you're hearing.
The main give-away this time is when it came to the power chords a little bit after the half-way point in the video.
His fingers are on the fretboard in some funky chord that would sound terrible. Trust me, I've played my fair share of yucky sonding chords, and the ones his fingers are forming are DEFINITELY "yucky chords."
Also, if you look at his fingers with the guitar pick, he's only picking at one string while he should be hitting at LEAST two or more strings for these chords.
It was a great song, yes. But I'd like to see some kid actually plug in his amp and play to that. That would impress me a lot! |

i was gonna say exactly what sopi said and another give away is that fact that to have a good sound come out of 2 more more stings on the fret board you have to apply a little more pressure than he is so yea this is definatly dubbed |

He's OZIEL FILHO,25 known as OZIELZINHO. He's from Brazil(Sao Luis-MA)and started playing when he was 9 years old with his brother. His influences are Edu Ardanuy,Kiko Loureiro, Juninho Afran, Matias Jab, Y.Malmsteen.
The video and audio goes out of Sync during the video which is why it may look a little fake.

Believe me this guy is for real. Sorry but you're wrong |

Now, if I were able to read the language that site is in, and had I known about it before viewing the video, I would've checked it out before I made myself look like a jerk.
He must have his volume super loud to be able to just barely tap the string and make such a big sound, though.
So, he records a video of himself playing and records the audio onto something else and just throws both files together afterward?
Also, does he play anything other than that 80's hair metal stuff? |

| He is actually playing it. He missed notes at the very start. When the song does the fast descends at the beginning he's not doing it like Yngwie. This guy practices ALOT, i bet he practices at least 6-8 hours a day to pull that kind of playing off. Great player, now where's the originals? |

Yeah sorry mate I should have written a little more about him. Didn't think this many people were interested in this kind of video. I've got another clip of him that I might post. |

We have already established that he is playing it and why it seems that he isn't.
Scott, some more videos of this guy would be appreciated. I saw pics of live performances on his site. Are there any videos of said performances? |

Even if he wasn't actually playing it, I'd still be as impressed as I was before.
Other than that, I'm a huge Oziel fan prior to coming here.
Now, you have to consider one thing. First off, Y. Malmsteen's version of 'Far Beyond the Sun' doesn't have those imitation synthesizer noises in the background. And secondly, you should remember how music videos are made. When someone's making a music video, usually they are taping themselves when they aren't actually playing what you are hearing, but it just looks like it.
My guess is that the audio and video went out of sync, either that or he had taped the playing prior to him taping himself playing it (With a few minor mistakes, seeing as no one's perfectly able to play a song with the same exact timing as before). |

| is this dude BRAZIL's greatest shredder? well, with due respect,Brazilians can play but all they do are these rhythm guitar oriented THRASH/DEATH thing, there is a difference between a guy who can play and a guy who could REALLY play, think of B.B. King,he plays awfully slow and repetitive but he has STYLE,which means it is the unique tattoo embedded in your heart, and to be able to exactly copy Malmsteen's Far Beyond the sun is what I call technical achievement, but to be able to write a song just exactly like that would be a MUSICAL ACHIEVEMENT,kiddo... |
