Yeah i know , been reading history for 15 years i never seem to get enough of it... The germans had it all in WWII, basically every kind of weapon we have to date was developed by the germans. Air to ground missiles, Ground to air missiles. Anti-ship rockets launched from planes, radio guided missiles and a version that used a TV screen!. The "Sturmgewehr-44" was the worlds first assault rifle made that the russians copied and is today known as AK-47. The worlds first jet-fighter and the rocket plane, And the Delta wing that americans boost about was german to begin with.. Just google for Horten airplane if you doubt me. The germans already had a jetpowered delta wing back then... The list goes on and on. Another thing that was really kick ass was the Infrared sights or nightvision that came along in late 1944, and was used in few numbers in tanks and assaultrifles. I love history, one gets a whole other view on world events and fun facts.
One of the latest known technologies in submarine weaponry is rocketpropelled torpedoes that popped up in russia called "Squal", the germans worked on that in -43 i think succeeded in launcing a couple but deemed the project "too dangerous to procced with" due to poor materials because of the prolonged war. They also made successful submerged rocketlaunches as well with Wurframen-43 rockets.
Not to mention the vastly superior tanks. But too few of everything though, Hitlers orders never to withdraw resulted in such major encirclements of regiments and losses that could never be replenished. So that's actually the main reason why the germans lost.. After all, it took 5 american sherman tanks to beat a single Panther. |

Actually, I've been to the U.K.
It's cold, wet, expensive and crowded as a fuck, oh, and the food was pretty bad. Except for some of the fruit and the chocolate, which I think was imported from France.
The beer tasted like it was strained through someone's jockstrap, and all joking aside... I have never seen worse teeth in my life... and I've been to West Virginia and Tennesee... Seriously.
Scotland was cool, although the food was again, nothing to write home about. The scenery on the other hand was AMAZING. Especially the areas along the mainland in the isles.
Ireland, (North, I've yet to get to the South which I've heard many wonderful things about) I've been to as well, and I have to be honest again. You poor people being watched over by cameras because you either can't feel safe from one another, or the Government feels the need to watch out for the populace. Of course that's the same things insn't it? Since the Governement is supposed to be the people for the people.
Overall, I extend you an invitation to meet me here where I'm sure you would like to come visit to escape the rain and clouds anyway, and come somewhere that there aren't cameras recording your every move.

Why should I?
I have the right to the English language. It is the prominent language in America and I also have the lineage to it as well. You can ignore history, but you can't escape it you know.
Oh and Scots English is an actual language by the way.
I'm sure Gaelic would really help me in life as I continue to work and maintain more earning power than you right? So sorry, I'll just stick with my language as a tribute to my ancestors who escaped British tyranny, started a new life here, fought them off again and have prospered ever since.

You make all these arrogant claims of how delusional I am and yet out of all these posts, there has not been ONE that has addressed the specific FACTUAL basis for my posts.
If you have FACTS then let's talk, if not, then admit you're wrong. I have traveled and yes, there have been a couple places I did not feel safe specifically because of the nationality on my passport (which as arrogant Eurotrash you stereotype me as not having) but overall, I've had people speak to me about wanting to live in The United States Of America and/or having wanting to/already have traveled here.
I think most of the pure bullshit that is spewed forth about the "whole world" “hating” us is just a smoke screen developed by Europeans to deflect the criticism from themselves. Honestly. And furthermore, there are many people here who are of descent from countries which are still, or have been, oppressed by England, so why the fuck are you so startled that there would be people around the world who can't stand them? Are you really that dumb to think the whole world doesn’t know the historical facts which have formed the foundation for Europe? Or do you just think, again in your arrogance, that the population of The United States Of America just doesn’t know the history, because we’re so “dumb” as you Eurotrash like to portray us? Most of the time people don't bring it up, because as I've mentioned the past is the past and besides WE United States citizens are MUCH better off having come here. I'll respond to this one because for the first time in oh, 8million words you've actually had something to say.
1) Listen to the tone of your post. You say things like "I've studied history for 15years so I can easily spot your bullshit" - as if an AMERICAN would NEVER have thought to study history and if he/she did, it MUST be only the AMERICAN "version" of it. Blech, You're arrogance makes me sick. And then you can't even recognize when you do shit like that, read back through some of your posts, they're laced with that attitude. And truthfully, you're one of the mild ones about it.
2) You make it sound as if you're flabbergasted that anyone would DARE not like Europeans. Well, for the record there are many people here who are aware of their history and how they came to be here. Jews, Blacks from all over the globe, Arabs, Scots, Irish, English, French, Albanian, Spanish etc. and a large percentage of the ancestors of these people, came here to escape the tyranny of Europe as indentured workers, or were forced into slavery or just made a break for it. And many of the Scots/Irish were starved off their lands by the English for all kinds of reasons.
3) Why will Europe get all worked up over the Palestineans but won't say a fucking word about Ireland still be occupied, or the English stealing Scotland's oil or any of the other injustices still being committed to this day. WHY? Why does the world pretend they don't know Ireland is occupied? It's the SAME BASIC IDEA as Palestine.
7) I did not see your post on this as I have only been active on here for less than a week. So that means we must agree on something. However, look at the way you wrote your comment and please refer to point 1 for reference.
8) Again you have taken away only what you wish to hear (stereotype). My WHOLE point has been that Europe should be thankful to us for our help. I did NOT say at any time we should not be thankful of should be spiteful to Europeans for their help, as they most certainly did help. The French resistance, The British armed services, scientific breakthroughs etc. I mean think about it, the British invented RADAR, they made some of the best fighter aircraft in the war (I think I read the P-51 was actually patterned after the Spitfire somewhere?) and they had aweome weaponry as well. On the other hand, they did not have enough of any of them and there were not enough pilots/soldiers etc. They were almost cut off by the U-Boats from supply and if it weren't for MASSIVE aid from The United States they most certainly would have folded.
And you're right about Germany having some kickass weapons and major breakthroughs as well - as you've stated they were only a year or so away from being able to field a nuclear balistic missle - bad news for us all.
That all being said, The problem I have is with people forgetting all that and acting as though The United States deserves their scorn. We don't. Furthermore there's more to the foreign policy than meets the eye and you pander to that perception when you parrott things such as "the whole world hates the US" etc. It's not true and there are many times we get a bad rap because shit gets stirred up in the media, or we become the scapegoat for someone else, a la the recent cartoon bullshit. We had NOTHING to do with that, in fact I don't think any news outlet in the U.S. even showed them, but because Denmark is such a pissant little country and with all the recent crap going on, people just start blaming us... and instead of Europe standing up and saying something or taking the blame for what they deserve, they instead remain silent or even portray us poorly in the news. I believe this is wrong and is not the appropriate way to treat us in light of our shared histories. |

So let's see
1) I havent said americans dont read history, you twist my words as in former posts. I was reffereing to YOU personally not your countrymen. Also, any arrogance and bad tone you might spot from my behalf, might just be directly linked to your own behaviour. Going about posting eurotrash everywhere doesnt exactly have any positive inpact on people, i dont get affected by it, i couldnt care less what you think about europe. But the attitude in itself and being unpleasent towards me the very first time i met your arguments in a nice manner is something you dont take in consideration at all ?. I have posted som anti american comments on this site, that's when all shit began. But the comments have always been directed to the few people responsible and not the entire american population. THAT is something you seem to think that i have, you really need to analyze what people write before you go off half cocked.
2) Have i ?... Whenever did i give off the impression of thinking "How dare someone not like europeans" ?. You know, i am self confident enough about my national identity and my roots, not to give a fuck about what people in other countries think. This isn't a popularity contest, and if some american(s) doesnt like europe, fine i really do not care. And when you touch the subject of how people ended up in america, that was then it's past, over and done with. It was another culture and another world with different values not to be compared with todays modern world, people weren't treated better in the states at the time, that's old fantasies.. Just take the genocide on the indians as an example. Also the reasons for people voyages over to the new world wasen't all like how you said, you just bring up the worst scenarios, you forgot about how people were promised land and fortune and lost everything once they made it over the ocean.
3) This point isnt easy to give you an answer on as a swede. In western countries we have the habit to let countries sort their own internal affairs by themselves. I can say this though, there is apparently alot of people who would want to do something about everything in this world, but 95% of the problems are strictly political. And you should know yourself that "we small people" on the streets cant influence what happens around us. But you can rest assured that people have oppinions about ireland and scotland, palestine and whereever.
7) Note taken, i'll let this one slide.. Forgive and forget; Reference to point 1 about the bad manners in the retort.
8) And again i have to say; if you are looking for a thank you note for your wartime efforts in WWII, you should take in consideration that Adolf hitler declared war on america after japan attacked pearl harbour.. This is an important point, so dont just skip the lines here read it carefully. Germany declared war on america... This means in simplicity, that U.S.A were not asked for help by europe, and U.S.A did not go to europe to aid europe. U.S.A were compelled to go over to europe because your nation had just been handed a war declaration. If i could i would write a pretty picture on this site for you so no misstakes could be made. I am pretty sick and tired of americans always being in need of being thanked for WWII. You dont see any brits or russians being thanked openly by the rest of europe either today, that's because as generations passes, the war becomes a memory and people have put it behind them and moved on with their lives. If nations had to thank each other for war efforts, we would have to send postcards everywhere all the time.
"the whole world hates the US", that might be said by people, but again it's not a shared oppinion by everyone. That's a statement people make just to put weight behind their own hatred. And i never said i hate america, the culture you have is something i see as sick, but that is also something you probably think about ours as well. For my own part i just dont trust the decevious politics by the U.S goverment. And i dont trust any other goverments of any country either. Not in this day in age, they are not more politicans then they are businessmen.
So it's not us europeans fault that your country is being pissed upon, its a small number of ruling people in the goverments and in the media that we small people have no control over, that are responsible for your bad reputation. People who watch the news of course get affected by what they see by the media and most people lack the ability to make their own judgement on what goes on. The masses after all is strongly influenced by the news both on paper and TV and any other media. If people see american soldiers beat up some iraqis on the TV, they naturally react to it. And the media doesnt let people know about the background, they just air the beating and let people sort out the interpretations of it themselves. And as you know by now, the majority of people are prone to hatred and not reason. If you dont like what is said about america in the media, somehow i dont think it will help coming on here and bashing brits and typing eurotrash will help what so ever.
So your eurotrash talk for instance is quite foolhardy, you see peoples comments on the web about anti american slanders. So you do the same thing back, what will that amount to ?, personal pleasure perhaps, but if you really want people to listen you should work more on your people skills. People like myself enjoys to make fun of americans that have your attitude. Americans that are opposite however all cool and nice, i treat those the same way as i would treat any other person regardless of national background. You get what you deserve is what i use to say.
I havent heard anyone around here where i live, claiming that america is to be blamed for the crap after the cartoons made by danes. And if someone would make that statment over here, they would be looked upon a damn fool i can guarantee you that. The muslims however, they see everyone the same regardless if it's denmark or america. they have this fucked up state of mind that nobody understands, so they might blame you. But no civilized european country is holding america as a scapegoat for the cartoons, not that i have heard of. that just sounds like... let me use a favourite british exclamation for this one, bullocks!.
