Actually, if you look back at Europe's history, they''re all related. Yet, there are "countries" the size of Rhode Island where people think that someone from the next "country" is inferior to them, and therefore need to be subjugated.
That is the entire problem with Europe, everyone is power hungry, selfish, ARROGANT and slovenly, so the easy answer is to get all of their underlings to go to war to get more money, power, raw materials, etc. or to KILL them over difference of opinion. Just compare several aspects of, for example, (since we're talking about Japan right now anyway) japanese culture (like Nô, Kabuki, Kyôgen) and compare them with for example greek culture (greek plays and stuff) and you might find a lot of differences in for example philosophy and apperception of life and reality. yet, the urge to express oneself through means of artistic activity as a general human trait, without limitation by nationality, makes both countries having elaborated something like that. |

Just for the record Pigg, I only started to post when I couldn't stand the bullshit on this site any longer. Go back through some of the posts from a couple weeks ago and look at all the European superiority bullshit. Europeans are the most Hypocritical people on the planet, yet also feel as though the are the superior?? Actually I thought it was quite clear in my post that I wasn't trying to call the european superior, neither did I try to call any other nation superior than another... Actually I couldn't care less about nationality, and I'm going against your words because of that! not because I'm an european or whatever.
Now for my examples:
The USA came into being in 1776. Which, in fact, should allow me to call all the people of my example (which was set in the 1880) Americans and not Europeans. The example was actually over 100 years later, whilst Germany after WW2 is a good example for what can change and be formed into a new country with a new nationality within like 50 years or so... So it's far from true saying those were still Europeans with no American nationality.
This can also be applied to the other two examples I gave (1853, 1861-1865).
Next: I don't even know why you are telling us to stop killing each other. The last nation that actually started a war these days was America.
And once again: Neither am I saying that Europeans are superior nor am I saying that Americans are inferior or vice versa. I couldn't care less about nationality and that's why I actually feel sorry for you (not even in the way of meaning to insult you) - cause if your view on Europe is that of a bunch of jerks killing each other over power and thinking each other inferior, then you seem to do nothing but project the bad traits, the shady side of general human character onto a foreign nationality instead of seeing humanity as it is. Because of this I also agree with you for being pissed if some Europeans here talk shit like "we're superior to Americans". But by lamenting about that and then telling the same vice versa like calling Europeans Euro-trash and stuff, you actually are no bit better...

You don't get to pick the time period of the Indian wars. History does. So you must start in the 1620's.
I like your comparison to Germany after WWII. Think this way, America had to beat back the British, have a civil war (which was NOT about feeling superior??WTF??) and also the Spanish American war as well as other things with the French (really doesn't qualify as a fight though like most French "wars" as well as slavery. Don't forget too that during this time the country was still being settled and explored etc. so in reality I think the fact that it took about 3 times longer than Germany did is pretty good. Considering that in Germany, England and The United States Of America were there as well as so many others, to help guide, rebuild and stabilise the country during the rebuilding. I don't really think you're being fair by playing the human rights card seeing as America is the country that was instrumental in getting the movement started.
