| Possibly faked? There are flamethrower kits, but the engine noise associated with this vid leads me to believe it is running in a extreme lean condition which would heat the exhaust piping enough to ignite the unburnt fuel being forced out. Recall? Hmm... |

Jabinya, you've left me flummoxed. Certainly running excessively lean will cause an engine to overheat- BUT- uh, running lean- AND unburnt fuel are somewhat oxymorons.
Regardless, can you imagine sitting on a bike at a red light, and having him come up on your left? OUCH! |

i imagine it doesnt sound like their toyota pruis' engine. anyway though, even if its "unsafe" it still looks badass. i could see some mom driving her kids to soccer practice with flames shooting out the back. |

home made flame shit. very easy to do:
Install a brakeline fitting in your exhaust pipe about 1/2 way back from the engine. Run a steel
line (to deal with the heat of the exhaust) from the fitting in the pipe up through a hole in the floor too a small propane bottle. In the end of the muffler pipe, about 1 foot from the end, install an electric ignitor, similar to an electric one in a BBQ, switch operated, not "push-button". This is what we hear clicking, not the engine. When you want flame, turn on the electric igniter, open the valve on the propane tank, and get out your marshmallows!! The propane ignites, and the exhaust from the engine makes it come out like a blowtorch. |
