get a glass of wine, wet your finger with the wine and rub around the edge of the glass. if not wine, a wine glass of water will work and dip your finger in some vinegar.

It works, i've done it but a long time ago with regular water.. I'm guessing the vinegar has a little better friction than water.

Vinegar is used as a glass cleaner. The fingertips and glass must be very free of oil in order to create friction. The height of water in the glass tunes the frequency within the limits of the specific glass. Google up a glass harmonica if you want to see wierd. There you have a series of glass nesting bowls that slowly rotate. They've been around a very loooong time.

	its pretty easy to do with a glass. fill about half up with water and wet your finger. then lightly press down on the rim and follow the edge. there can't be anything in the glass though.
