Perhaps you didn't know this, but the nazis considered the scandinavians to be the purest race. And there were around 10000 children born during the war as a result of german occupation of norway.

Well yeah, unless you were anything of those groups i suppose. However it's been grossly overexaggerated with alot of it though. There were alot of Deaf and blind people in germany at the time. I believe it was only the worst genetically inheretied deceases/afflictions that they tried to "weed out" to a certain degree. It's alot of false and unfair accusations to alot of stuff they did back then, and of course alot of shit too, but, one has to dig and try and stay impartial to get the real picture of things.
And damn me, i thought they taught you about that part of your history in school... You know the normans were as the name suggests "Northmen" or as we say here "Nordmän/Nordmenn". It was Rollo, a viking who sacked paris during one of many raids, who; eventually were given the land around Rouen (Rohan). It was a way for the french king at the time to deal with the many viking raids, and according to the deal, rollo became a duke and a vassal to the french king, and as such he kept other vikings away from further raids.
It's still disputed if Rollo were from norway, denmark or skåne in sweden. But at any rate, he was the one who first settled in normandie, and who's later descendant would invade england in 1066.
But both before and during Rollo. The danes and norwegians were already busy invading scotland, ireland and england. And founded a shitload of towns and cities. York, being the most fameous one. The languge were also widely affected by their presence.. Words like Boat (Båt), Oar (Åra), Stock (The same), Starboard (Styrbord). .. The real name for Rudder would be Stýri in old norse, but the other examples are pretty much the same in pronounciation overall in scandinavia today, minus impossible finnish tounge, who's history i suck plenty at by the way.. Unless it's about the time when they were a part of sweden, and that would be back in the days when we were a superpower and dominated the battlefields of europe.
I'll leave it up to the interested to pick up the history books, i've read a shitload myself for 16 years or something now. Mainly nordic history, but also generally on everything. You'd be surprised how much one can learn from something that is regarded as past and useless to know, if anything you apprichiate things in every day life alot more. |

As for a union... It's all and well, but the fuckers in goverment managed to trick our sheeps into voting for membership in the european union. So as much as i hate saying this, it seems that the norwegian sheeps have more brains and less wool in their cranium compared to the swedish race.. lmao! |

Hey Carl, I kinda figured you were a reader. I've given away or donated to libraries most of the books that I've kept, and only keep 1 out of 10 (or so) books that I've read. I've especially enjoyed American history, and occasional European history books. I look around my "shack" (as a 'ham' I can call it that) and still have 4 book shelves, many stacked double. The only reason I've kept some of these books is either for reference or I'd like to read them a second time at a later date. Little by little I'm clearing out these shelves, but I don't read as fast as I used to. (Bifocal glasses will do that) I'll admit to being a garbage can for books and will read nearly anything worth reading in nearly any category, including technical.

I checked out that one.. And to me that guy is as twisted as you claim Carlin to be with his points, and just as arrogant. When someone begins to talk about saving, and or converting people, then i back away slowly .... Even sounds to me as if he has copied carlin's type of standup style, especially with the cigarettes.
I realized one thing though going through this clip... It has gone too far for both of us to fully see the other side, and believeing in it... The bible and religion for example was never introduced to me when i grew up, that's something i checked out for myself out of curiousity. Sure we had people representing the church and all that in elementary school, and we had our trips to the church. But one never really understood then what they were going on about at the time... I believe they have the holy communion in church when people turn 15 or something like that too. And i'm the only one in my family who rejected that..
Much as i rejected alot of the things that teachers in school was saying back in those days, and today i learnt that it was alot of false, and exaggerated claims they were feeding us with, strangely enough one might think... I always questioned too much they told me, and i always sought the truth to everything to the extent that it's possible.
Anyway, it's not that i would say i "rejected the word of god" as some believers have told me through the years... It's just simply that my brain/mind has never been able to accept what i have read and been told about it. Not after everything i had read and learnt previously, and the credability seem to lessen the more i listen to preachers as in the video.. Now, i have no beef with people who find god on their own terms, it's all strictly personal. People can believe what they want in my oppinion.
To me though, life is simple enough, you are born, you live, then you die. Whatever happens after is unknown, and to an existing living mind it's impossible to know anything outside of life as one has come to know it... What mortal man is wise enough to tell you what's beyond death, if he hasen't been there himself ?
And to go by a book that is written by living men thousands of years ago, at a time when people were superstitious enough to believe that falling stars were signs from a higher being.. One that that tells stories of god and satan. Why believe that, and not some babylonian scriptures of baal, and mephisto ?... All cultures have had their interpretations of a god or gods, some have been more successfull, depending on outcomes of invasions and/or war.
So.. *I* have choosen to be impartial when it comes to religions, i know it's something that has followed man since well before the stone age, so it's quite natural. The differences in religions are pretty much that, some of them have a need for followers, and a need for saving people in a strange arrogant way. While some religions accepts everything and everyone, and strictly leaves it to people to decide for themselves without any influences.
Belief in anything, is strictly a question of personal need. What makes it right or wrong, is how you attained it.
The wrong way for instance, is to tell children at a too young age what is the only and right way to think and believe, unless it's obvious moral values in life.. The people who have been forced into thinking, or not given an option in perception of things. Will most likely not be able to pass on any other belief or options to their own children, or other people. As the belief or oppinion they have themselves, have not been attained by any non-influencive ways... Which is why i see strict religious families and unions as a danger or handicap, to a persons evolvement in life.
I'm not suggesting that you have been brainwashed or anything like that of course, im not pointing at anyone and judging, as i know people all have had their own experiences, and reasons for believing, or doing something destructive to others, or themselves.. To some people god has been a savior, no denying that. And as for priests and nuns and all that who really do keep to their faiths, one has to respect that they at least are kind and humble people.
I suppose it's free enough in our parts of the worlds today, not to bring up your children in a predetermined way as it has been, and still are in some other places... A non religious and open minded family, are one of the reasons why im not a believer. The other reasons are simply that i am who i am... I have studied and read just about everything you could imagine. Most things have been rejected, some have been accepted, lots of things im neutral to. And just about everything have been questioned... I tend to compile what i read into one big picture, and make up my own little theories of just about everything.
