First off he's Swedish, therefore you shan't be making assumptions about the whole world. Secondly, just because something is popular does not make it a good thing, i.e. all mainstream music, fashion, television, etc. Thirdly, disliking soccer does not equate to liking american sports. I'm sure if you asked him, he doesn't give a shit about american football either. Lastly, soccer IS fucking boring, so get over it and try liking something without first considering its popularity.

Just because Hockey on grass is not (and probably never will be) as popular as Football, you don't have to hate it so much ! But I seriously respect it just as I respect the american football. I always end up watching american football on films although I wish I could understand those damn complicated rules.

Actually when you say it like that... Yes, fat people in crash helmets who run into eachother would be a hell of a lot more fun to watch than footy. Let me know if they start showing something like that. As for the american sports, i wouldn't know about them. We don't have those over here, at least not to the same extent. But im sure the american counterpart has alot more action in it, to me that counts. If the players are allowed to get physical, instead of just prantsing around trying to win the ball with step dancing, i don't know, somehow that seems to raise the entertainment bar on this end.
If i want to watch something intellectual or more rewarding than that which you deem as simple. Then i would watch chess, or possibly billiard. But i preffer to engage in those games rather than watching them. Watching others beat the crap out of each other is just fun.
Being simple, is when you get presumptive and start bordering to personal offense because of a fellows oppinion.
